Mid-Valley Radiants and Industrials, Inc. carries a complete line of heating equipment. Frequently, our customers desire assistance in choosing the correct heating solution for their specific application. Let us put our 45 years of experience to work in fulfilling your heating or air movement needs. The brief explanations below describe a few typical applications for our products, along with brief descriptions of the different types of heaters.

Infra-Red Heaters
Infra-red heaters are typically used in industrial and commercial applications, however we do carry a residential garage tube heater that works quite well. Over the last five years we have dramatically increased the use of our infra red heaters in agricultural applications. These heaters are not only effective in heating machine sheds, but also do quite well in heating swine barns. After installing radiant heat, swine operators have commented that their swine eat less food and gain more weight because the animals exert less energy maintaining their normal body temperature.

In most heating applications, we recommend radiant heat because it is an efficient and comfortable form of heat. Radiant heaters produce heat that feels similar to the sun's rays, while minimizing your natural gas or propane bill. Plus, radiant heaters warm the surroundings such as concrete floors, machinery, and equipment, which redistribute the heat, so when you open the doors your heat and money does not escape, which can be a problem with other types of heat.

Electric Heaters
Electric heat is often used in situations where radiant heat is not suitable. For example, many restaurant owners use our electric heaters to warm their patio areas where height requirements often restrict the use of radiant heat. In addition, electric heat should often be used in hazardous locations with combustible fumes or chemicals.

Make Up Air Heaters
The growth of our make up air line of heaters demonstrates just how useful these units are to our customers. These units not only heat the air but may also filter and cool the air. Equally important, these units can actually save money. When you exhaust air from a building such as a warehouse containing forklift exhaust, you create negative air pressure. When you open the doors to the outside, cold, hot or dirty air may rush into the building in order to equalize the pressure. Imagine spending money to heat, cool, or filter the air in your building only to have it escape into the atmosphere. These units are called make up air units because they "make up" for exhausting the air, thus neutralizing the pressure so when you do open the doors, only a minimal amount of outside air enters. Besides "making up" for the exhausted air, we frequently use these units in auto body shops to filter the air and cure the paint during the painting process.

Forced Air Heaters
Forced air heaters are frequently referred to as "unit heaters." Typical applications include garages and commercial buildings. We often use these heaters in areas with obstructions such as low ceilings, which limit the use of radiant heat. Since our radiant tube heaters are on average thirty feet long, we often rely on these unit heaters to fill the void in areas with restricted space. In addition, when initial price is a concern, unit heaters offer an economical solution.

Portable Ductwork
We frequently rely on portable ductwork from FOF to distribute air when designing heating systems. In places where conventional ductwork is insufficient or non-existent, FOF fabric ductwork provides an economical solution. While more cost effective to manufacture and install than traditional metal ductwork, our portable ductwork withstands even the toughest conditions. Our portable ductwork can also be used in factories to evenly distribute cool air throughout the factory floor. In addition, our portable ductwork can be moved and reconfigured to meet airflow needs as floor layouts change. Moreover, portable ductwork can be configured to maneuver around ceiling obstacles. We recently used this product when designing a railroad car painting facility in Illinois.

Portable Heaters
Studies show that the lack of heat is a major factor in physical fatigue. Our portable heaters offer an economical solution, while maintaining comfortable working conditions. Our portable heaters can be used wherever temporary heat is needed. Painters at construction sites often use our heaters to aid in the drying process. Also, farmers and ranchers use our heaters to stay warm while repairing stranded equipment. With both gas and electric models to choose from, we can help provide a portable heating solution to suit your needs.

Ventilation
We offer a complete line of louvers and fans to meet your airflow needs. Our industrial quality fans are used in buildings to reduce stagnant air and increases employee comfort levels. In addition, fans may be used to exhaust harmful gases and fumes. Many restaurants use our fans to exhaust smoke and steam from their kitchens. We often employ our louvers in conjunction with our high quality fans to tailor the airflow to specific applications.
